Every sale, purchase and adjustment writes a stock movement with the reason attached. A count can be corrected after a stock take without guesswork about what changed.

Installed copies check the update service and verify the signature before installing. If verification fails, nothing is installed. A sale in progress is never closed from under the cashier.
Portable copies are updated by downloading the newest package from the download page. They do not pretend to self-update, because the portable packaging cannot replace its own files safely while it is running.
No. The records live in a SQLite file on your computer. This website is static and never receives your sales, customers or balances.
Yes. Connect a second screen and K-Dynex shows the cart, the totals and the payment step to the customer while you keep working on the till.
